TONYA CLEMENT
No chamber music festival would be complete without a solo piano recital. The Highlands of Scotland can offer the multi-talented Tonya Clement to fill that role. As well as being a much-in-demand piano teacher, Tonya has a whole catalogue of competition awards and an enviable list of recital performances that have earned her a strong audience following.
As the world has witnessed the horrors in Ukraine, Tonya changed her proposed programme to include some works by Ukrainian composers to demonstate her support for that country.

Tonya will be starting her recital with Tchaikovsky's Children's Album, Op 39 - a collection of twenty-four delightful musical morceaux that illustrate episodes in a child's life. There will be a collection of projected images to accompany this suite. There follows works by two Ukrainian composers; two bagatelles by Valentin Silvestrov and two folk songs by Mykola Lysenko, Без тебе, Олесю / Without you, Olesiu and Ой, зрада, кари очи, зрада / Oh, betrayer's brown eyes. Tonya ends her recital with La cathedrale engloutie, No 10 from the First Book of Piano Preludes by Claude Debussy.
Doors to Inverness Town House will open at 12.30pm
